Why Soča Valley, Slovenia?

Johannes, Founder: “The Soča Valley has a unique energy that's difficult to find elsewhere. There is a high pulse as it is full of action sports, hiking and aviation, yet is has a traditional low key Slovenian genuineness. Pure, simple and non pretentious. I could have moved anywhere, but decided to live in the Soča Valley because of the Goldilock factor: It’s the perfect average between pristine nature, solid infrastructure, cleanliness, very high quality of local food produce, rich history and a large selection of cultural and sporty activities do participate in. It’s just right. I can go on and on about it!”

I want this. What’s next?

Call or write us now and we will book a time for a phone/video conversation where we ask you a series of questions to find out what’s important for you. We will then make a proposition for an itinerary including a preliminary budget. You can say “gremo!” (let’s go!) or make adjustments. The plan will inevitably change anyway due to weather and other unexpected events. But that is our strong side - to adapt and find beautiful solutions when things don’t go as planned.

What if I need to cancel?

We understand that it can feel strange to make a booking during the ongoing pandemic, so we created Our Policy so that you can book and still feel safe. Click here to take a look at it.

How does the payment process work?

To book, you pay a retainer for your trip. During your visit we cover restaurant bills, accommodation, activity costs and entrance fees etc so that you can relax and enjoy your stay. After your visit is over we send a final invoice that includes our fees. The retainer is €250 per person and should be paid at least 45 days before your trip. Read more here.

Why are you doing this?

Johannes, Founder: “I’ve had several successful careers in my life, reaching high on the ladder in all of them. It has given me confidence that I can achieve anything. And after I decided to stop skydiving professionally I was left with the opportunity to start a career in any field. I was considering going into cryptocurrency finance, starting up an online cooking school and few other ideas. But I chose to dedicate my life to Meeting Mountains. After having the chance to do anything with my life, this statement should be indicative of how passionate I am about sharing the Soča Valley with you.”

Which is the best season to come?

Most visitors to the Soča Valley come in July and August. These are beautiful months here - weather is gorgeous, it’s warm and the valley is full of life, culture and activities. However, our favourite months are April, May and September because it’s calmer and offers more freedom for privacy and exclusivity in nature.

Visit in October to March for a real insight in the Slovenian small town life, ski Slovenias highest resort with a view all the way to the Adriatic Sea, ski tour fresh snow, go caving, paragliding and stay in mountains huts. We have strong experiences to offer for all seasons.

How do I get to Bovec?

The easiest is to arrive by car. When you want to explore a bit deeper then it’s nice to have the freedom and we can recommend the feeling of driving on our windy roads.

How did you first discover the Soča Valley?

In 2015 our founder Johannes Bergfors was shown a picture from a skydive in a mountainous terrain. He stopped everything immediately and burst out: “What!? You can jump in an environment like that?” He did more research and was astounded by pictures of the emerald river, high waterfalls and beautiful gardens - all bordering Austria and Italy. He didn’t know a place like that existed on earth but he knew he needed to go.

Johannes prepared the arrangements of his first event in the Soča Valley before he had even been there himself. It was called The Mom Boogie. Four moms and four kids all came together under the open invitation that anyone could come that was cool enough to want to go to a place they never heard of, together with three other kids and moms they’d never met.

They all stayed in the same household. Cooked together, went kayaking and zip lining and went on beautiful hikes. The kids skydived and the moms rode in the airplane. Everyone was in awe.

The chance arose for Johannes to rent an apartment for the next summer and he took the chance. The rest is history…
